One of the things I’ve realized during these surreal COVID-19 times, is how much I’ve missed writing on the blog. For me, this blog started out of passion and a desire to share all things beauty I’m obsessed with in hopes that I could help others looking for the same products. I found writing therapeutic and recently realized, it still is for me. It provides that escape from mundane, daily routines. It’s a way to connect with other like-minded beauty aficionados and celebrate beauty in all its forms. So, for the remaining of the year, I would like to become more active on the blog and share more of the things I’m up to day to day. Starting with a recent haul.
By Terry is currently having their BIG summer sale! Everything on their website is currently 30% – 50% off. I do enjoy their products and decided to take advantage of the sale to stock up on some faves and try some new products.
Here is what I hauled from the By Terry Summer Sale …
Also shown in the photo above:
- Slip Silk Face Covering: this face mask has become a fast favorite! It’s made from 100% silk with cotton interior, feels incredibly soft, comfortable and cooling on the skin. These Slip Masks come in 4 different colors/patterns and are currently 25% off here. They’re also available here and here.
- Chanel Handcream Texture Riche: one of THE best hand creams out there, hands down and pun intended. I love that it works to moisturize the hands and the nails. It’s available here and here.
- Fragrances shown: Chanel Coco Mademoiselle and Jo Malone Willow & Amber (limited edition).
By Terry Terrybly Densillis Foundation Serum Foundation (Shade: 7 Golden Beige)
This foundation has been one of my staples for years! I have previously raved about it in prior posts here and here. It has a natural finish, excellent medium coverage buildable to full coverage and skincare benefits. It wears beautifully all day and all year round, regardless of weather. In short, if you’re looking for a great foundation that does it all, then this is the one you have to check out!
By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serum (Shade: 4 Sunny Flash)
This product was a recent discovery for me. I remember seeing it all over IG at the beginning of the year and once I found out I was pregnant, decided to try it and use it instead of foundation, just to give my skin a break. I purchased my first bottle from the Dermstore early on during their Spring Sale for 20% off. And I now just restocked from the By Terry website. There are several reasons why I love this product. This CC Serum gives the skin a dewey finish and the most beautiful, natural-looking glow. I haven’t worn foundation in a few months now and have been using this serum almost daily. I have noticed improvement in my skin texture, tone and luminosity!
It doesn’t provide any coverage so this is not a product for those days when the skin is misbehaving. But you can mix it in with your foundation to add some glow and radiance. I simply can’t rave enough about this product! I can see myself using it for years to come!
By Terry Ombre Black Star (Shade: 20 Immaculate Light)
I’m sad to say it, but this product was a big disappointment for me and it’s being shipped back to By Terry as I’m typing this post.
I have been looking for a stick eyeshadow in a light champagne color to use on my inner corner and brow bone. The one I’ve been using for years is a highlighter pen from Burberry, see review here. Lots of bloggers on Instagram raved about the By Terry Ombre Black Star in Shade 20 Immaculate Light. Looking at their swatches, it seemed exactly like what I was looking for. But I found the texture, as you can also see in my photos, hard to blend. The consistency is not subtle shimmer like my Burberry pen, but chunky glitter that doesn’t blend onto the skin. Plus, the tip broke upon first swatching it, most likely because the chunky glitter is not homogeneous making the pen easily breakable. I’m not sure if I got a faulty pen or this is the formula for this particular By Terry pen in Immaculate Light.
By Terry Terrybly Shine Gloss (Shade: 2 Honeymoon Kiss)
I absolutely adore By Terry glosses! I got the shade called Honeymoon Kiss, a beautiful peachy pink color. The formula is not tacky or sticky, but feels incredibly balmy and moisturizing. The lips are left feeling soft and looking plump. It has an elongated sponge applicator that makes it super easy to apply this gloss on the go. The scent is a bit strong and features notes of violet, rose and iris. If you’re sensitive scents, then this is not the gloss for you. I would recommend instead the Rouge Coco Shine Glosses, which don’t have a detectable scent and I’ve previously mentioned here.
By Terry Compact-Expert Dual Powder (Shade: No. 7 Sun Desire)
This deluxe travel-size usually retails for $18 on the By Terry website here, but it came complimentary with the order. It’s a beautiful compact that features two tones: a shimmer center used to highlight and accentuate the cheekbones and a mattifying outer part to define the cheeks. I typically swirl my brush around the compact, grabbing a blend of both tones and pop that on the cheeks as blush. I then use a small brush, like the Real Technique Setting Brush, to dip only in the center of the compact and use the shimmer tone as a highlight. The formula is finely milled and looks great on the skin. It’s not dry or cakey, nor does it accentuate pores. I will definitely have to explore these dual-ended blush/highlight compacts and look at other colors they offer. I would love a coral-toned duo.
By Terry Beauty Essentials Set
I received this set complimentary with the purchase, but it is available for purchase on the By Terry site for $29 here! This limited-edition pouch includes:
- By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder (travel-size): Infused with skincare benefits of hyaluronic acid, the multi-purpose Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder is a great setting powder to instantly blur minor imperfections, minimize pores, even out skin tone, fill in fine lines and control shine. It’s one of my favorite setting powders at the moment.
- By Terry Baume de Rose Flaconette (travel-size): A tube version of their iconic (and one of my personal faves) Baume de Rose Lip Balm which comes in a pot. This balm is rich in vitamins and provides intense moisture. It harnesses the power of rose blossom essential wax to soothe and repair the condition of dry, chapped lips. I love this tube version and prefer it over the pot.
- Mascara Terrybly Paris in shade 1 Black Parti-Pris (travel-size): The Terrybly Mascara features a blend of ingredients including hyaluronic acid, collagen, plant protein and growth-activating technology so lashes look stronger, healthier, longer, thicker and more volumized. I do like the sound of the formula, but can’t say that I am particularly impressed with the results. My eyelashes are small and straight, so I need something with a bit more oomph, like my holy grail Guerlain Maxi Lash (currently on sale at Sephora here) or NARS Climax Mascara.
