The Sephora Semi-Annual VIB Sale is in full swing! Continuing my coverage of the sale, today I’ll be sharing with you some Skincare Recommendations. I have a previous post with dates, discount codes and how the sale works (what’s included this year, what’s limited and what’s not a part of the sale) here. There is a separate post on Makeup Recommendations here and I will follow up with haircare soon. I figured shorter, more concise posts might be more user-friendly.
So, today I’d like to chat with you about some new and old skincare products that deserve our attention.
Note: This post is not meant to be an in-depth review of every product mentioned, but rather a quick overview. I will however try to link a detailed review where I can find one. Let’s begin …
Skincare
Biossance is a clean, natural skincare line. It came highly recommended by a personal friend and I must confess I’ve not been disappointed. Everything I’ve tried from them has been outstanding in terms of formula and results. The cleansing oil has become one of my faves. It’s gentle, yet it does an excellent job removing my makeup (even waterproof eyeliner) without stripping the skin and leaving it feeling dry. Plus it’s packed with nourishing, skin-loving ingredients such as squalene and antioxidants.
I can see myself repurchasing this heavenly tonic mist for years to come! It feels so soothing and hydrating, replenishing the skin with minerals and hyaluronic acid. It is the perfect addition to any skincare routine and great to spritz on as a mid-day pick me up for tired and dull skin!
I love face masks and anything Rose, really. This mask is another winner from Biossance. It has a rich, potent base of botanicals and antioxidants, working to moisturize the skin and protect it against environmental aggressors. The scent is mild and not overpowering. This mask completely revives the skin from a dull and sallow state, revealing a healthy-looking complexion.
This serum has been a staple in my beauty cabinet for years! It’s packed with antioxidants and does an incredible job calming the skin and imparting a luminous, radiant glow. I usually use it in the morning, after I tone and before I moisturize.
I started using this about 9 years ago when I turned 30 and never looked back! It is incredibly pricey, but my undereye area is one of my top skincare concerns. I have fine lines which have accentuated as I’ve gotten older, my skin is dry and my dark circles could be seen from space. So for me, this moisturizer has been worth splurging on. I only buy it during the Sephora Sale and only use it at night. I’ve talked about it before in a previous post here.
I have used this for many, many, many years! I honestly cannot think of a time when I didn’t use this eye cream, it’s been that long! There is a previous post on this eye cream here. It’s my go-to morning eye cream for several reasons. First, it’s incredibly hydrating and nourishing. Secondly, it brightens my under-eyes and diminishes the look of fine lines. Lastly, the price is very reasonable. It doesn’t have any anti-aging properties, which is why at night I prefer to use the La Mer Eye Concentrate referred to above. But none of the other daytime creams I’ve tried in the past have performed as well as this Kiehl’s eye cream.
You might not be thinking about lip balms now that winter’s over, but protecting the lips is an all-season kind of task. The Laneige Nightly Lip Treatment does an excellent job protecting, nourishing and keeping my lips moisturized. It’s become a fast favorite! So far, I’ve tried their original, as well as the vanilla flavor and loved them both. I would say this lip balm is reasonably priced considering one pot has lasted me for almost a full year!
This cream is so lush and feels heavenly on the skin! Some key ingredients are Japanese Purple Rice, Hyaluronic Acid, Botanical Extracts and a powerful blend of Algae that intensely moisturize. This rich moisturizer feeds the skin with plumping hydration and antioxidant-packed Japanese purple rice for a dewy, healthy glow. My skin is dry this time of the year and I use this cream in the morning and at night. In the summer however, when my skin is combination-like (normal with an oilier T-zone), I prefer to use the Tatcha Dewey Cream at only at night and the Tatcha Water Cream in the morning.
Hands down my preferred spf for the face! It has a mineral formula (which means no sunscreen chemicals enter the skin) and reflects sun rays away from the skin. Most mineral formulas I’ve tried have been drying on my sensitive skin. Not this Drunk Elephant SPF. It feels moisturizing on my skin, plus it plays nice with makeup. You can find a review of it here.

I have a previous post here that details some of the products I simply can’t live without and another post covering some of my recent Sephora splurges here and here.
