Let’s talk about something uncomfortable: feeling bloated! Yes, it happens to all of us and the holidays are a prime time when it seems inevitable to avoid such a condition.
What is bloating and why are we more susceptible around this time of the year? Most people describe bloating as an uncomfortable feeling of fullness, tightness, or swelling of the belly area. Most medical professionals would say bloating occurs when your abdominal area is inflamed with fluid and gas. The good news is bloating is usually related to what and how you eat. Large meals can make you feel lethargic, gassy and bloated, but there are some foods that may ease your discomfort.
I’m a strong believer in natural cures and at-home remedies over taking a handful of pills. For instance, cucumber, celery, ginger, lemon and parsley have outstanding healing properties especially when it comes to soothing digestion, decreasing fluid retention and reducing bloating. The juice recipe below is my go-to when I feel bloated and lethargic.
Off with the Bloating Juice:
½ cucumber, peeled
2 celery sticks
one 2-inch piece ginger
1 cup baby spinach leaves
5 springs of parsley
1 cup pineapple chunks
juice of ½ lemon
Yield: 1 serving
Juice all of the above ingredients. Enjoy!
Note: If you prefer the juice on the sweeter side, you can juice more pineapple or add a gala apple to the recipe above.

Wow didn’t know celery helped with digestion. I’ve been trying to incorporate more juicing into my diet so I’m definitely going to try this concoction . Please post more juicing recipes. Thanks!
