This post is dedicated to my lovely readers and followers! It’s been such an incredible journey from the moment I started my blog and created my Instagram account back in December 2015, a journey whose end I hope I’ll never reach. I’ve met some amazing people, learned about their stories, admired their creativity, felt moved and inspired by their content. If I had a penny for every time I’ve gasped in wonder over the beautiful photography and insightful messages! We’ve bonded over makeup, skincare, beauty, fashion, food, travels, anything lifestyle related, really. We’ve talked about our personal lives, our aspirations and dreams for the future. We’ve gotten to know each other on a daily basis. We’ve become friends. And what better way to celebrate our friendship than with a party!

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Eyeshadow Palette

Over the past few years, there hasn’t been a Tarte Cosmetics launch I’ve not loved. This Spring they’ve come out with another gorgeous release. This is a beautiful, limited-edition palette featuring eight creamy shadows perfect for every day, as well as for special occasions that call for a smokey eye. It is by far one of the most exciting palettes I’ve seen, and trust me, I’ve seen plenty. The shades are all very pigmented, buttery and easy to blend, as all Tarte shadows are. The palette is a perfect mix of mattes and metallics to define and contour the eye, veil the lid, accentuate the crease and highlight the inner corner and brow bone. The shades have a velvety formula, powered by Tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea complex, formulated to hydrate and balance the lids with a creamy powder that is never drying or chalky, truly revolutionary. The shadows are housed in a beautiful compact with a Pucci- reminiscent print on the front. The set also includes a step-by-step guide to help you take your look from beachy bronze to a sea-inspired evening look. The palette is vegan and formulated without parabens and phthalates, all an added bonus. There are two mattes and six shimmery (or metallic) shades.

The 8 (0.05 oz) shadows are: Mermaid (metallic gold), Seashell (metallic pink), Wave (a metallic greyish brown), Abyss (dark brown with subtle shimmer running thru it), Reef (metallic copper), Starfish (a shimmery bronze), Cove (matte tan) and Sand (matte ivory).

I have used this palette every day for the past month. It is my favorite palette at the moment. The shadows don’t crease, blend flawlessly and last on me all day. I really like the fact that there is no fallout with these shadows and I don’t feel the need to tap off any excess when I’m applying my makeup. I have used every single shadow in the palette and love them all. The size is perfect, the packaging is beautiful and I always find myself reaching for this and taking it with me everywhere as my compact of choice. The only negative thing I have to say is that this palette is limited edition so it won’t always be available.

YSL Rouge Volupte Oil-in-Stick Lipstick in the color No. 47 Beige Blouse

New from YSL, medium coverage, innovative formula that provides color and shine, while conditioning your lips. Formulated with 65% oils to deeply hydrate the lips, moisturize and provide all day comfort. There are six different oils for six benefits: hydration, high shine, comfort, ultra-melting, luminosity and smoothness. The lipstick is also infused with YSL’s signature mango scent, making the product smell so heavenly. It is also enriched with antioxidants from natural extracts of pomegranate and rosemary to reduce the look of fine lines, while candellila resin forms a thin, protective layer to help lock in moisture and magnify color and shine. Mineral pigments provide bright, vibrant color and a melting formula that enables a glide-on application. Hyaluronic acid spheres hydrate and soften lips to help seal in moisture for up to eight hours of hydration. This has become my favorite every day lipstick. I haven’t noticed a reduction in the looks of fine lines, but I can attest to everything else this lipstick claims to do. It is the perfect happy medium between a full coverage lipstick and a tinted balm. It lasts on me for about 2-3 hours and there is a delicate, faint stain on the lips even after the lipstick wears off. It looks beautiful. The color No. 47 Beige Nude is a sophisticated rosey nude.

YSL Les Sahariennes Bronzing Stones Bronzer in Fire Opal

This bronzer is the perfect companion for transitioning your makeup from winter looks to spring and summer, as the warmer weather sets in. It is an ultralight, matte bronzer that gives the skin that effortless, sun-kissed look, creating an unprecedented golden glow and radiance. The packaging is a luxurious gold compact that looks elegant on any vanity. The emboss is one of the most unique I’ve seen, reminiscent of the Sahara desert dunes. I would say the color, Fire Opal, compliments most light to medium to tanned complexions. I personally love everything about this product, however I do find it a little too hard-pressed for my liking, which means it takes a little more work to blend (and you know I’m not known for my talents as a makeup artist). However, most people in the beauty community seem to adore this product.

Guerlain MaxiLash Volumizing and Curling Mascara

This mascara creates volume and curl thanks to a high-performance polymer trio. The first one wraps the lash hairs in extremely adherent oils to thicken the look of your own lashes. The second one acts like a conditioner, softening the lashes so that they can be sculpted into the right shape. The last one acts as a finishing hairspray for the lashes in order to set the curl. The mascara came highly recommended to me and I’m happy to say it did not disappoint. There are a few mascaras I really adore (L’Oreal Voluminous from the drugstore, YSL Faux Cils and Lancome Hypnose) and now this Guerlain Maxilash. The formula is moist, not too wet and not too dry. It coats the lashes perfectly, doesn’t smudge (an issue I sometimes have with Lancome Hypnose), doesn’t clump my eyelashes and stays put all day. I wear contacts and glasses, and the mascara has never irritated my sensitive, dry eyes. It also removes very easily with eye makeup remover, without the need to tug on the sensitive eye area. I find that it makes my lashes look darker, longer thus providing definition to my eyes.  Winner, winner all around!
