Does great skincare have to come with a hefty price tag? I must admit I used to think so. Impressive research, bold claims and clever marketing contributed to my preconceived beliefs. But having had the opportunity to try Pixi Beauty skincare, I now realize that paying an arm and a leg for the latest and greatest anti-aging product is not always necessary. Save your money for that timeless handbag or a classic pair of shoes!
I only recently got the hype surrounding Pixi Beauty. You see, we’re lucky here in the States. Unlike other countries where the brand is exclusively available thru high-end stores such as Sephora, in the U.S., Pixi Beauty can be purchased at mass-retailer Target. Thus, it’s readily available and made incredibly affordable. I have previously tried some of their offerings and shared my experiences here and here. Because let’s face it. You can’t walk into a Target and not be drawn in by the elegant, minimalist Pixi packaging.
Coming home from my epic European vacation, vastly documented here, seemed like the perfect time to focus on restoring and reviving my skin, getting back to reality and getting ready for Fall. There are 4 items that I incorporated in my skincare: Glow-O2 Oxygen Mask, Overnight Glow Serum, Jasmine Oil Blend, and Glow Mist.
Glow-O2 Oxygen Mask is a miracle 2-minute treatment, unlike any other mask I’ve tried. It applies clear. But within seconds, it starts bubbling up on the skin. It then turns into a velvety foam, breathing oxygen back into the skin. You can see immediate results. The skin is revived, bouncy and full of life. I love that it only takes 2 short minutes to get results. Life is hectic as it is, so you’re instantly winning by having a highly effective product with instant results and an affordable price point. I like to use this mask about twice a week, after cleansing and before toning. I use it primarily in the evening during the shower, but it can also be used in the morning depending on your agenda for the day.
Overnight Glow Serum is a concentrated exfoliating gel formulated with 10% glycolic acid. I use it every other night after toning and before moisturizing. It can also be used as a booster on the T-zone or as a blemish treatment. In terms of texture and results, it reminds me of my beloved Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Serum reviewed here but of course, the Pixi Serum is available at a fraction of the cost. I love that it doesn’t dry or aggravate my sensitive skin but works to reveal a more even and radiant skin tone overnight.
Jasmine Oil is an exquisite oil blend that helps the skin recover from loss of moisture and dullness, while calming and restoring stressed and unbalanced skin. It is such a treat for the skin! Plus, it smells out of this world. It’s one of those powerful products that can immediately transport you to a place of inner calm and utter serenity. I use it every night, as a last step of my skincare routine, after my moisturizer. I place a about 3 drops in the palms of my hands and gently push the oil into the skin. Using my Rose Quartz roller, I massage it deeply into the layers of the skin as described in a previous post here. It is by far my most favorite part of my skincare routine. Inhaling the heavenly scent and allowing my mind to pause.
Glow Mist is an all-over face mist that hydrates, protects and nourishes the skin. It features a blend of 13 natural oils plus propolis, aloe vera and fruit extracts. It imparts the most beautiful natural glow, revealing a complexion that is more luminous and healthy-looking. I like to use it on the face, neck and hair. Simply shake the bottle well and spray it throughout the day, especially when your skin is looking tired or is in need of hydration. It can also be used to set your makeup, but I personally like to use it to refresh my makeup a few hours after the initial application. It leaves my skin looking dewey and feeling incredibly hydrating.
Just with anything in life, skincare is a lot of trial and even more error. But what I have learned along the way, is that the price tag doesn’t always capture how effective, how potent and how great a product really is.
