One of my favorite products, the iconic Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, just got a makeover! It’s just been released in a jumbo size and limited-edition packaging, which I have to say, I totally adore! The design by artist Blair Breitenstein features a modern update of the original ‘Soy Girl’ that adorned this beloved cleanser when it first launched in 2000. Fret not, the extra-gentle yet super effective formula hasn’t changed, more on that later in the post.

I also have to tell you that this post was not planned. I had a different article scheduled to go up on the blog. Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is the brand’s first skincare product and currently their #1 bestseller. Did you know that one Soy Face Cleanser is sold every minute? Impressive, for sure. But I can’t say I’m surprised. This cleanser has a cult-like following and for good reason. It is a cleanser that almost every beauty blogger and skincare aficionado has tried and loved. The reasons are many!

This cleanser is not your typical cleansing product. It has a multi-tasking formula that works to tone, soothe and soften the skin while nourishing and promoting a healthy-looking, more luminous complexion. It works on every skin type. The soothing gel-like texture is extra-gentle yet highly effective, melting away impurities and makeup (even mascara) without disrupting the skin’s natural protective barrier and without stripping the skin of essential moisture.

The formula is enriched with key ingredients such as:

• Amino acid-rich soy proteins to help maintain elasticity and healthy-looking skin
• Rosewater to calm and balance the skin
• Cucumber Extracts to soothe and tone
• Robage Seed Oil to nourish

How to Use

The recommendation is to wet the skin and massage the cleanser over the face and eyes. Rinse and pat dry. However, I find this cleanser to work best on dry skin due to it’s slippy gel-like texture. My preferred way is to apply a small amount onto dry skin, wet my hands to emulsify the cleanser and then work it in for about 30 seconds. It can be rinsed with a splash of water or removed with a wash cloth. The cleanser is not artificially fragranced, but I do detect a delicate cucumber scent that feels so refreshing and soothing to the senses.

My Experience

You can most certainly tell from the photos below that the obsession is real. I don’t own just one Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, but one in every size! Because let’s face it, one size does not fit all!

I first learned about the Fresh Soy Cleanser years ago, as a young adult struggling with acne-prone sensitive skin. I remember walking into a Sephora looking for a gentle product that would remove my makeup and cleanse without further irritating my fussy skin. After looking around for a while, I finally settled on the Fresh Soy Cleanser. I didn’t know much about the brand back then. But I was immediately drawn to the more natural formula featuring rosewater, cucumber extract and being fragrance-free and soap-free. I remember trying the cleanser that night, not having many expectations at all, and then being in complete awe at how it left my skin feeling: soft, soothed and healthy-looking.

Of course over the years, I have tried many other cleansers. But I always seem to find my way back to the Fresh Soy Cleanser! It is that great basic that will never go out of style! It worked wonders on my acne-prone skin many moons ago and it works just as beautifully on my current mature, dry skin.
