Hello my beautiful friends! I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe! I know it’s been a while and I promise to have a life update for you soon.
But for now, let’s break the blogging silence with a fun and colorful post featuring the four newly released Charlotte Tilbury eye quads and matching, dual-ended eye pencils. Have you seen them yet? In true Charlotte Tilbury fashion, these products are incredibly alluring! And if you have your eyes on any of them, then you’ve come to the right place. I have a detailed review and swatches of the new Charlotte Tilbury Color-Coded Eyeshadow Palettes and Eye Magic Liner Duo in Copper Charge, Super Blue, Mesmerizing Maroon and Green Lights.
Let’s dive in….
New Charlotte Tilbury Color-Coded Eyeshadow Palettes
These four new quads are color-coded. They promise to light up your eyes and make them wider and brighter-looking via an innovative technique using color theory and the color wheel. Charlotte is using her 28 years of color-expertise to curate a selection of hues and tones that will dial up your BLUE eye color, enhance your GREEN, amplify your HAZEL and make BROWN eyes sparkle! In other words, you’ll see your eyes like you’ve never seen them before! Each palette has a dual-ended matching eyeliner pencils to go with it. One side features a darker matte hue, while the other side is a vibrant metallic from the same color range. These are sold separately.
Let’s take a closer look at each eyeshadow quad and matching eye liners. All swatches are single swipes …
Copper Charge
This eyeshadow palette features a selection of shimmering gold, rose-copper and russet-brown shades.
The colors in this eye-enhancing palette play with the light to make blue eyes POP and brown eyes GLOW! But to quote Charlotte herself: you don’t have a to be a blue or brown-eyed beauty to get the copper effect. Anyone can use this palette as long as the colors speak to you!
Mesmerizing Maroon
This eyeshadow palette dazzles with rich purple, plum, and maroon shades created to enhance and define green eyes. Sadly I don’t have green eyes, but still count the Mesmerizing Maroon palette as my personal fave. It’s an easy pick for me. The quad features colors and tones I usually gravitate towards and wear on most days.
I love wearing these tones and they do look flattering on brown eyes as well, even though the quad was created with green eyes in mind!
Super Blue
This eyeshadow palette showcases a selection of metallic champagne gold, deep navy and shimmering sapphire blue shades. This eye-enhancing palette is designed to light the flame in brown eyes, making them POP and sparkle for lit-from-within effect.
Personally, I didn’t think the Super Blue quad meant for my brown eyes was really up my alley or complementary to my current lifestyle. I haven’t worn blue eyeshadow since high school for a reason! But I tried it for several days in a row, blame it on the Coronavirus quarantine! If I were to stay home, I might as well wear the blue eye shadow! And to my surprise, the blue is not really the same blue I wore in high school. These are sophisticated hues of blue that actually do make my brown eyes pop and sparkle!
But I find that the best validation always comes from family who’ve known me for a long time and are familiar with my current style and how I look on a day to day basis. During these days at home, several family members have asked about my makeup and commented how nice the eyeshadows looked. This palette is a big winner for me!
Green Lights
This eyeshadow palette mesmerizes with glowing gold, olive and khaki-green to dial up green and hazel eyes and make them POP!
I was quite surprised by how much I loved wearing the Green Lights quad. The color story is beautiful and very wearable, the shades are more like neutrals, as you can see in the swatches.
My Experience
I adore Charlotte Tilbury, she makes some of my favorite makeup, products that I’ve repurchased countless time over the years. But must admit, these new quads sounded quite gimmicky to me. I had initially seen them online and although beautiful and unique in terms of color selections, I didn’t feel compelled to rush to the store and check them out in person. And just when I forgot about them altogether, the mailman drops off a PR package with the entire collection.
Please understand that by no means, I’m trying to brag. I’m simply trying to be transparent and honest. Although these products were sent to me under no obligation to review or post about, initially I wanted to quickly mention them on only on Instagram. It seemed only fair since these were sent to me complimentary from the brand. But the more I played with these eyeshadow quads, the more I found myself reaching for them every day.
The packaging is beautiful, feather-light and uber-slick, featuring a good-size mirror. Thus easy to hold and do my makeup. The shadows are stunning, incredibly alluring and lively. The formula is creamy, soft and feels like the most expensive silk on the skin. There is practically no powder fallout and the shades blend like a dream. The lasting power is great. I’ve used them without an eye primer and they last on my eyes for a good 8-9 hours without creasing. I do think they’re a bit pricey, but the quality is outstanding and they last a long time. Thus, these make for a great treat and I’ve always recommended them to family and friends!
Final Thoughts
I hope you have found this post helpful. I always try to provide you with my honest thoughts and be as detailed as possible. If you happen to be more like me and to have quickly dismissed these, then hopefully this post inspired you to check them out in person. Even try them out at the store. You will be surprised just how gorgeous the quads really are and how they transform your eyes!
