Today I have another summer haul, this time featuring one of my favorite beauty brands: Chantecaille. Every summer, usually during the birth month of the brand’s founder Sylvie Chantecaille at the end of July, they host a big sale event. You can shop their entire range of makeup and skincare at 30% off. The sale is first open privately to certain bloggers and their followers. So if you have your eyes on something and think it might sell out, this is a great opportunity to snatch that item. About a week later, the sale becomes public, available to everyone. This year’s coupon code (non-affiliate) was SYLVIE30.
Why Do I Love Supporting Chantecaille?
Chantecaille is one of those rare brands that aim to turn beauty into an ultra-simple and instinctive ritual. Their formulas revolve around the synergy of nature and science, delivering products that are effective yet free of harsh and questionable chemicals. The brand’s ethos is equally as captivating. Due to a deep concern for our endangered environment and the many animals at risk, Chantecaille donates a percentage of their sales toward supporting conservation efforts all around the globe. Their products have established a platform with the power to raise awareness, draw attention to important issues of global sustainability and how we can all help. I really like that. Those who’ve been loyal followers of the blog and my Instagram, know just how passionate I am about nature and animals. I will always support brands that make an effort to give back.
Chantecaille Summer Sale
I love Chantecaille skincare and makeup. There is a previous post here reviewing and swatching their entire permanent collection of blushes.
I should also mention that one Instagram friend, Sandy (@fromSandyXO) who blogs over at fromSandyXO.com is the one who helped me decide which limited-edition palette would work for me. Sandy also had a coupon code available before the public sale and I used that to score everything for 30% off.
Here is what I hauled from the Chantecaille Summer Sale Event …
Chantecaille Manta Ray Highlight and Blush Duo Palette (in the shade Coral Manta Ray) –
Okay, so don’t let that vibrant orange blush color scare you like it scared me! In my personal opinion, one of the most flattering looks for summer is peachy cheeks. I have several coral blushes that I’ve had on rotation recently (Tom Ford Love Lust, Benefit Galifornia and Chantecaille Emotion Bee Blush), but they’re all very much loved and some are even on their last leg. Yes, I have managed to hit pan on some of these blushes! So when I saw the beautiful Chantecaille Manta Ray Palette, I felt as if the stars aligned. The palette features a burnished apricot blush and a peachy, champagne highlight housed in a stunning compact looking more like a work of art. A part of the sale profits benefit Wild Aid and their mission to reduce global consumption of wild life products (including manta rays).
The orange looked a bit too intense for me in the pan, but my friend Sandy mentioned above reassured me it was nothing like that. It’s more of a subtle, pop of color to liven up the complexion and revive it from a dull and lackluster state. And she was right! Both the cheek and highlight color are gorgeous! The formula is that of a wet powder, densely packed and that smoothes and hydrates. Both colors blend easily and add just the right amount of color. I would say the blush is more of a coral color, than apricot or peach, so that’s definitely something to keep in mind.
If you’re in the market for a face compact comprising of a cheek and highlighter, then check this out. It also comes with a beautiful rose blush and ivory, gold highlight, housed in a compact depicting a Whale Shark. Both palettes are crafted in Italy with high quality botanicals.
Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss (in the shade Lucky) –
This is an OG gloss of mine, I can’t stop raving about it. It’s a universally flattering peachy-pink color with incredibly subtle gold shimmers running thru it. Free of harsh chemical, incredibly comfortable on the lips, non-sticky. I honestly have recommended this gloss to countless family members and friends. I will say however that the formula is more on the sheer side. If you prefer opaque lip glosses, I would recommend instead the Rouge Coco Glosses, which are quite saturated, see swatches here.
Chantecaille Rose Face Mist –
A while back, I had the opportunity to be invited to the Chantecaille Spa at my local Neiman Marcus store for a complimentary facial. I have filmed and saved part of the experience in my Highlights on Instagram here. I instantly fell in love with their natural skincare range. The formulas are beautiful, the scents are out of this world. But the prices are quite steep. So the sale provides an opportunity to splurge and treat oneself to their skincare at a small discount. There were so many products I had my eyes on! Their face creams, masks and rose oil are so lush!
But ultimately, I decided to only purchase another old favorite, the Chantecaille Rose Face Mist. This will be going straight into my hospital bag when I go to deliver my baby boy this September. The scent instantly transports me to a rose garden during summer afternoons, it’s not too overpowering, not too floral, but just right. The mist is great and evenly distributes the product all over the face. The results is skin that is hydrated, soothed and refreshed. And how gorgeous is this limited-edition bottle?
Have you tried anything from Chantecaille yet? Chantecaille products are available at Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and on their own website here.
