You might remember from previous blogs that I am a serious planner, not just about life in general, but also when it comes to my beauty purchases. I start planning weeks ahead and adding products to my Sephora cart. Everything from haircare to skincare and makeup gets purchased, used and reviewed here on the blog and on Instagram. Do I exhibit tendencies of purchasing the entire store? You can say that.
So let’s get started and see what I’ve picked up this sale! Don’t forget to grab a cup of tea, coffee or drink of your choice. It’s a memorable haul!
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Eyeshadow Palette – a beautiful, limited-edition palette featuring eight creamy shadows perfect for every day, as well as for special occasions that call for a smokey eye. I’ve been so impressed with this palette and plan on reviewing it on the blog very soon.
Burberry Kisses Lipstick in English Rose – a beautiful rosey nude. Burberry Kisses lipsticks have the best formula for every day wear hands down. I already own the color Nude but wanted something rosier for the summer.
Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream in Medium (No. 2) – I love Burberry foundations and I’m always on the hunt for a good BB cream that I can wear comfortably on most days. This particular BB cream is also an Allure Magazine Beauty Winner for 2015, so it sounds promising.
Tom Form Lipstick in Revolve Around Me – I’m a huge fan of the Tom Ford lipstick formula and have reviewed one here, and any chance I get to purchase one on sale, well I’m going to take it. The color is a peachy nude perfect for every day, every season, and every outfit look.
Tom Form Bronzing Powder in Disco Dust – this bronzing powder is amazing and gives my beloved Guerlain a run for its money. It is a very natural-looking bronzer that you really cannot over apply (always a concern with bronzers)! It is also finely milled and blends very easily. I would say the shade is complimentary to most light to medium and tanned complexions.
Yves Saint Laurent Oil-In-Stick Lipstick in Beige Blouse (No. 47) – a beigey nude, medium coverage, innovative formula that provides color and shine while conditioning your lips. Sold!
Yves Saint Laurent Les Sahariennes Bronzing Powder in Fire Opal – beautiful product with a unique emboss and housed in a very lux packaging. It is a matte bronzer that provides a natural sun-kissed glow to the face, perfect for light to medium to tanned complexions. It seems a little dry and doesn’t appear to blend very well, but I’ve only used it twice. Will give it a few more tries before making a final decision.
Guerlain Volumizing and Curling Mascara – came highly recommended by several beauty gurus and it doesn’t disappoint. It doesn’t clump or smudges on me, it separates the lashes and provides volume and curl. I love it!
Beauty Blender – yep, I’m stocking up. I don’t think this product needs a review. It is amazing at applying foundation and concealer to help achieve that airbrushed look.
Deborah Lippmann All About that Base base coat – it’s a 5-free formula, multi-tasking product that provides 10 nail treatment benefits. I plan on reviewing this on the blog, it is my favorite base coat.
Dior Gel Top Coat – my favorite top coat of all times, have used it for years. It dries quickly and provides a lacquered look to any type of nailpolish.
GHD 1” Classic Curling Iron – I’ve wanted this curler for ages, but simply could not get myself to make the investment. I know several ladies in my circle of friends who have it, love it and recommend it. So I finally took the plunge! Let’s see how it fares out.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir – I have a review of it here. I always repurchase it during the Sephora Sale. I still have the big bottle I purchased back in November and decided to pick up a smaller size for traveling and to keep in my bag. Great to spritz on a hot, humid summer day!
Caudalie Moisturizing Toner – it’s a non-alcoholic, natural toner that I reviewed here
Ole Henriksen Cleansing Wipes with Vitamin C – review here
Tatcha Camellia Cleansing Oil – recommended by every skincare blogger I follow on Instagram, can’t wait to try it out. It is a pricey option, so I decided to go with the smaller size available just to see how it gets along with my skin.
Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover – my favorite hands down, see review here
Sunday Riley Flora Face Oil – on my list for ages! I love face oils and anything Rose, really. This product has Russian, Turkish and Bulgarian red roses in a rich base of botanicals and antioxidants, meant to improve skin elasticity and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I’m very excited to try this and I have a feeling I’m going to love it (I did previously get a small sample from Sephora and loved it in my morning skincare routine).
Sunday Riley Good Genes and Luna Oil Set – re-stocking on these, see my review of Good Genes here and Luna Oil here
Kate Sommerville Goat Milk Moisturizer – I have used this for many, many, many years! I honestly cannot think of a time when I didn’t use this, it’s been that long! The brand recently reformulated the product and I’m so excited to try it out. Read my review of the old formula here.
Kate Sommerville Retasphere Retinol Night Cream – I’ve also used this for a long time, read my review here
And now a few treats for my husband:
Bleu de Chanel Eau de Toilette – this cologne smells divine, perfect gift for any guy in your life, and the scent lingers on the skin all day.
Clinique For Men Anti-Age Eye Cream – my husband started using this a few years ago and has really seen improvement with the appearance of fine lines and crows feet.
Clinique For Men Maximum Hydrator Face Cream – he’s also used this for a while and typically switches it up with L’Occitane Cade and Kiehl’s Facial Fuel and uses it in the morning and evening time.
So there you have it. This is everything I’ve picked up this year! Most of these products will last a long time and as such, I think now is the perfect time to go on a “beauty buy” detox, meaning I will not allow myself to indulge in any beauty related purchase unless necessary (ie toothpaste, qtips, etc). Let’s see how that’s going to work out!
What have you picked up during the Sephora Sale?

So many things! I really want to know more about the Flora face oil! I’d love to try Sunday’s product, I’m just waiting for the right moment to splurge on one of them!
Cat says
Thank you, Silvia! I am a fan of your blog http://www.theskincabinet.com so I really appreciate your comments. I typically stock up when Sephora has their semi-annual sale, which I believe is open internationally to a few select countries, I’ll have to check on this though. The Flora has been highly recommended for sensitive skin like mine, plus I love anything Rose. It seems similar to another Rose oil I’m testing right now by a natural UK company called Rosalena Oil. I’ve found them on Instagram, definitely check them out. If you had to pick one Sunday Riley product to start with, I would recommend Good Genes. ~ Cat L.
