I’m sure we’ve all heard numerous times that a wholesome diet with plenty of fruits and veggies is the key to a healthy lifestyle. Furthermore, I think we can all agree that what is good for the body is good for the skin. Today I’d like to introduce you to a skincare range that is able to nourish and feed our skin from the outside with the pure power of concentrated superfoods. The new ELEMIS Superfood Skincare range is a start-to-finish collection comprised of a Superfood Facial Cleanser, Daytime and Nighttime Moisturizer, joining the best-selling award-wining Superfood Facial Oil. This nutrient-dense, vegan-friendly range is ideal for those who, like myself, are looking to help their skin operate at optimal health with the nutrition it needs to appear fresher, healthier and glowing.
I have been a big fan of ELEMIS for many years, long before I got into blogging, expanding on that here and here. Not only do their formulas beautifully blend natural ingredients with proven science, but they also work really well for my sensitive skin. The Superfood Facial Oil is an old love of mine, previously mentioned here. ELEMIS has now expanded their Superfood line with the addition of a cleanser and two moisturizers, one for daytime use and the other for nighttime. Right after I tried these new Superfood additions, I immediately wanted to tell you all about it. But that wouldn’t have been fair. So I tried out the entire range of Superfood products faithfully for over two weeks, just to eliminate any doubt and be completely certain of my love for this new skincare line. Now I’m ready! Let’s dish …
ELEMIS Superfood Skincare Range
Essentials to these nutrient-dense formulas are Supergreen and Supergrain Complexes, rich in anti-oxidants, omega fatty acids, vitamins and minerals and feeding the skin with nourishment. Another key feature of this range is the inclusion of a Pre-Biotic, designed to aid in supporting the good-for-you microflora on the surface of the skin. The microflora is the skin’s first defense against environmental aggressors. The ingredients that run thru the Superfood range offer holistic nutrition for our skin and work synergistically with all the foods, juices and supplements we consume every day. I really like that.
ELEMIS Superfood Facial Cleanser
The Supefood Facial Wash is a gentle, yet very effective gel cleanser. It does an excellent job not just removing makeup, but also prepping and priming the skin to absorb nutrients from skincare products that follow.
Supergreen Complex Ingredients: Wheatgrass Extract, Broccoli Seed, Kale Extract, Nettle Extract, Avocado Oil and Organic Pumpkin Seed
This cleanser won me over right away and now even my husband is a fan! The scent is so botanical and spa-like, very soothing to senses. The gel-like texture glides effortlessly over the skin, leaving it feeling soft and refreshed. I wouldn’t use this as a makeup remover, as I would hate to waste any of it. My preference is to use it in the morning or as a second cleanse in the evening. I massage it into the skin for a penetrating clean that purges pollution, dirt and lifts away any last traces of makeup. And it does so without irritating my eyes and without making my sensitive skin feel dry or stripped.
The Supefood Day Cream is a long-lasting, lightweight moisturizer. The carefully-chosen formula is designed to deeply moisturize, plump, brighten, hydrate, protect and defend the skin against environmental aggressors.
Supergreen Complex Ingredients: Goji Berry, Broccoli Seed, Ginger Ferment, Matcha Tea, Daikon Radish, Green Mandarin, Cucumber Seed
Other Key Ingredients: Lactobionic Acid to gently brighten and smooth the complexion
The result of this concoction of botanicals and antioxidants is a next-level moisturizer that instantly revives my complexion, lifting it from a dull and swallow state. The silk-like texture melts into the skin, deeply penetrating and leaving no greasy residue behind. My skin feels instantly nourished and hydrated. And it stays that way throughout my long day! Usually, this time of the year when the weather’s cool and crisp, I notice my skin getting drier toward the middle of the day and find myself reaching for a hydrating mist, such as the Tatcha Dewey Mist previously mentioned here. But since I started using the Superfood Day Cream, my skin seems to be much better hydrated during the day, more luminous and softer. My makeup applies easier, looks better and last longer without the need to use any hydrating mists.
The Superfood Night Cream is a luxurious moisturizer that helps restore important nutrients during the skin’s regular nightly repair process. In other words, it provides the skin with a supercharged beauty boost!
Supergrain Complex Ingredients: Barley, Chia Seed, Quinoa, Black Seed, Flax Seed, Rice Bran
Other Key Ingredients: Sweet Almond Milk from organic hand-picked Almonds to help hydrate
I simply adore this night cream. Some nighttime moisturizers take time to be completely absorbed and often times end up on your sheets. The Superfood Night Cream is light in texture and melts into the skin upon contact. Yet it’s extremely hydrating. I’ve noticed that since incorporating this cream in my nighttime routine, I wake up with skin that looks hydrated and that feels supple and soft.
The Superfood Facial Oil is an award-winning facial oil containing the power of 9 anti-oxidants and omega-rich superfood ingredients to feed your skin and seal in moisture. It’s suitable for all skin types.
Superfood Complex Ingredients: Broccoli Seed Oil, Cucumber Oil, Daikon Radish Oil, Flax Seed Oil, Macadamia Oil, Poppy Seed Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Rosehip Seed Oil
I never skip using an oil at night no matter how tired I am or how little time I have. I have witnessed the benefits of using oils on my own skin over the years. More on that in a previous post here. So every night, at the end of my skincare routine, I like to push and press a few drops of the Superfood oil onto my skin. I massage it all in using my Jade roller. See how here. I simply cannot put into words how soothing to the senses and comforting to the skin this oil is! You have to try it for yourself!
The ELEMIS Superfood skincare range is truly as good as it sounds. From power-packed formulas, to lush textures and soothing, spa-like scents, this range is incredibly sensorial and refreshing. As you can tell from this post, I have tremendously enjoyed using these products. The entire range is in a league of its own!
