So if the newly released (and almost entirely sold out) Burberry Beauty collection had me dreaming of Spring (read more here), we can’t possibly deny it’s still Winter out there, we’re still layering cozy sweaters and mulling over chai lattes to keep warm! I’ve been talking quite a bit about winter skincare concerns recently (see a previous post here), mainly as I’ve noticed that despite my best efforts, my skin feels dehydrated and lifeless and no Starbucks seasonal drink will provide the much needed pick me up! So when a lovely friend and fellow beauty blogger, Claudia from Beautique Blog, offered to send me a few Dior products from their Hydra Life range, a line that specifically targets skin hydration, I thought I’d finally found a solution.
Expanding on its significant assortment of skincare, Dior created Hydra Life, a range of products that aims to address skin hydration, turning beauty into an ultra-simple and intuitive ritual. Sensory experience is an integral component of skincare in general and lives at the heart of the Hydra Life range. The collection boasts of delightful sorbet, aqua and jelly textures that are refreshing, luscious and light, working to irrigate and infuse the skin with moisture. Simply stated: textures full of life and cheerful delight that revive the skin and awaken the senses.
The formula revolves around the synergy of a powerful trio of flower extracts (two extracts sourced from Dior’s own gardens – centella and mallow, joining forces with a sanguisorba plant extract) that work to stimulate the skin’s essential hydration channels, scientifically known as aquaporins. The collection is formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates. Claudia kindly sent me the Dior Hydra Life Pro-Youth Sorbet Essence along with the Dior Hydra Life Pro-Youth Sorbet Crème and I cannot wait to give you the scoop on these. If you’re looking to inject a boost of hydration into your regimen, and really these long, dreary winter months provide the perfect opportunity, then this post is for you!
Dior Hydra Life Pro-Youth Sorbet Essence
Serums used to be so intimidating to me back when I first got into skincare, but have since become an important and always present component of my daily routines. Serums are the most potent step of any skincare regimen, delivering active ingredients directly into the skin and targeting specific concerns such as dehydration and wrinkles, just to name a few.
The Dior Hydra Life Pro-Youth Sorbet Essence is a gentle concentrate that deeply reinvigorates the skin, revealing a complexion that is revitalized, healthy-looking and more luminous. It comes in an elegant ice cube frosted glass bottle with a silver push-down top that conveniently works as a pump, dispensing just the right amount of product to prevent wastage. Although the directions indicate to use 1 full pump for face and neck, I find that I need more like 2-3 pumps. My skin likes to just soak it all up! The formula is light, gel-like in texture, and non-greasy. The serum glides seamlessly and is absorbed very quickly. It instantly leaves my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. I am very sensitive to scents, but I find the fragrance in this serum to be delicate, fresh and clean. It’s the perfect morning pick me up for my senses and for my skin.
I typically reach for this serum during my morning routine. I have used it with the Dior Hydra Life Pro-Youth Sorbet Crème, as well as with other daytime creams I currently have on rotation.
Dior Hydra Life Pro-Youth Sorbet Crème
Since Claudia mentioned this sorbet cream (although crème sounds so much better), I was dying to give it a go! The packaging is simply exquisite: light acqua blue, glass jar with a luxurious heft. It looks very sophisticated and elegant. And as if to match the glass jar, the cream itself is a beautiful light aqua blue color, so pleasing to the eye. The texture is light, non-greasy and absorbs quickly. And although my skin can sometimes react adversely to scented skincare, this calming fragrance, the same one found in the serum, is incredibly soothing and refreshing.
To be honest, I haven’t noticed much of a difference in my skin while using this moisturizer other than my skin looks hydrated and slightly plump. But the cream never claims to do more than that, nor is it meant to address concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles or hyperpigmentation, so it actually does exactly what it says on the packaging. It works well as a daytime moisturizer, ensuring the skin stays and looks hydrated, but it was not moisturizing enough for my dry skin overnight when worn alone. I have used it in the evenings as well, but always layered with a deeply moisturizing oil.
I was deeply touched and overwhelmed by Claudia’s generosity. I never thought I’d meet such kind and caring people on Instagram. To have a friend so willingly share out of genuine kindness and a desire to help, is truly really special and made my experience using these products that much more enjoyable. So a BIG thank you to Claudia for making me feel extra special. I feel like I won the lottery!
I’m curious to know if any of you tried this Hydra Life range from Dior and how you’ve got along with the products. Please let me know in the comments down below.

Hi Cat 😉 I’m a huge fan of these Dior products to moisturize my dry skin. It works well in spring/summer and less in winter. I use the sorbet cream, the gel eyes, the face mask and the pore reducer cream ! Lovely review and photos as usual ! Kisses

Kédidja, thank you for stopping by. Dior skincare is every bit as luxurious as one would expect for such an iconic brand. I haven’t tried much of their products yet, but I do want that cream that helps minimize the appearance of the pores! ~ Cat L.

I absolutely love the Dior Hydra Life line and I’m so glad you’ve gotten to try it! I am not usually a fan of fragrance in skincare, but I just looove the Hydra Life scent. I used up a full size of the serum last year, and want to repurchase it once I’ve finished a few other things (though it seems my skincare collection is always expanding). I also loved it in the morning, I felt it kept my skin hydrated all day so that my makeup remained fresh. The cream is also very nice, though I’ve never purchased the full size (again, constantly thinking I’ll downsize my skincare stash but it hasn’t happened). Great review of these excellent products!

Hi Jenn, thank you for always being so supportive of my content! The serum is indeed very lovely and I do see myself repurchasing in the future at some point. I usually also struggle with scented skincare, but I have to admit this fragrance is not overpowering but soothing and relaxing! ~ Cat L.

Such a wonderful review with beautiful photos Cat! I’ve never tried Dior products but I’ve heard good things about their prestige line! The hydra life line sounds very refreshing, and I’m a big fan of the light blue packaging – it’s so relaxing to look at! I’ll have to add that essence to my wishlist, it seems perfect for my combo dehydrated skin!

I used to use Dior Hydra Life line products about 5-6 years ago and loved it enough to try the entire range! I was such a Dior skin care fan before! I think I’ve tried most skin care range from Dior. Out of all Dior skin care line, I think Hydra Life is the most gentle. Some of the other products have even stronger scent than Hydra Life which I’m not a fan of. I love the face mask, serum, and the lotion/emulsion from this line. There was also a makeup base type of product called Skin Perfect or Perfector from this line that I used to like… But I think some of these have been discontinued… I do want to try the Hydra Life Jelly Sleeping Mask soon!

Hi Lisa, thank you for stopping by! I did hear that some of the Dior products from this line have been discontinued, with the exception of the serum and cream I reviewed in this post, their creme silk (which supposedly is more hydrating than the crème sorbet so a better evening option), their BB which I absolutely love and will have to repurchase this summer and the Jelly sleeping Mask which is on my list as well! ~ Cat L.

Hi Cat, as usual thank you for your honest review. Your one of those few bloggers that I trust. Yes I used this line long time ago and I loved it but as I age my skin needs change and that’s to focus more on my fine lines, more moisturizing products and all that sorts of thing. Again it’s always a pleasure to read your review.

Thank you so much for such a kind and thoughtful comment! It means more than you know!
I can totally understand how over time, preferences change. Too bad this cream doesn’t address any other skincare concerns (other than hydration) as I really love the almost whipped consistency and the packaging. The scent is not too overpowering either, but calming and soothing! So glad you enjoyed the post! It’s always such a delight to read your comments! ~ Cat L.

Such lovely friends you have, Cat and such interesting products to try. I must say I don’t like when moisturizers come in a jar, I don’t really get it. The serum sounds so good. Have a great week ahead.

Hi Desi, thank you for reading! Yes indeed. I never thought I would meet such kind and lovely people on Instagram, yourself included! I have to admit I actually don’t mind the jar packaging and actually prefer it. To me, it feels so lush to dip into the moisturizer and indulge the senses! But I definitely hear you and wish they would offer more options! As far as the serum, it really is a nice option. Definitely give it a try if you get a chance! ~ Cat L.

Ooooh! Hydra Life!! Used to be my moisturiser for a good 6 six years. It’s a brilliant range and I loved it, I only had to change it because of some acne that I got later and my dermatologist recommended something more targeted for me. But the moisturiser never felt heavy and did a world of good for my dehydrated skin. Might go back to it one day soon :). Thanks for your thoughts on the range! xx
