I’ve always found luxury skincare so alluring! The promise of exclusive cutting-edge technology that will help defy aging in hopes of staying forever young alongside remarkably glamourous packaging and lush textures have always found a way to draw me in. I fell in love with Dior Skincare when I first tried out their Hydra Life Pro-Youth Range here, so I was thrilled to discover their Capture Totale Dream Skin Le Serum.
The Promise
Is it me or does everything sound better in French? Perhaps it’s superficial but when I heard about the latest ‘Le Serum’ from Dior, I was immediately captivated. The serum is advertised as the 1st skincare by Dior capable of instantly restoring and enhancing the skin’s texture while diminishing ALL signs of aging: wrinkles, loss of firmness and glow, spots and redness. The key ingredient featured in this serum is a boosted Longoza Extract, manually harvested from Longoza, a fascinating flower renowned for its natural age-defying properties and capability to synchronize cells in every layer of the skin. The Dior Capture Totale Serum has been at the top of my list of things to check out for a while now, so when it arrived a few weeks ago, I immediately put it to the test.
The Facts
I’ve been using the Dior Capture Totale Dream Skin Serum for two weeks now, in the morning and in the evening after toning and before moisturizing.
I’ll start with the obvious: this is a very luxurious serum. It is nourishing, but not as light as other serums I’ve tried (such as the Farmacy Invincible Serum reviewed here). I love the way the Dior Le Serum feels on my skin. It has a silky fluid consistency that beautifully veils the face and is immediately absorbed into the skin. I am in my mid 30’s and don’t have a lot of deep wrinkles yet, so I can’t speak about the capability of this serum to diminish the appearance of wrinkles. However, I can definitely see a benefit in using it. The experience of applying Le Serum is like revealing your naturally radiant skin. My complexion appears brighter and the redness I typically have around my nose and cheeks is reduced. I have also noticed an improvement in the overall texture of my skin. I have sensitive, combination skin with dry areas along my jawline and visible pores on my cheeks. The serum glides over the face to provide a soft matte finish, plump the skin and diminish the appearance of my oversized pores. It leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and hydrated.
All ages, skin types and skin tones can use this serum. It is a silicone-based product and it does contain alcohol and fragrance. Although these are ingredients I typically avoid due to my skin being super sensitive, I have not had any issues with this serum. Find a complete list of ingredients here.
The only thing I don’t like about this serum is the price. But it comes in an eco-friendly refillable container see here and in the photo below, so you can save a little bit there and be environmentally conscious.
I have loved Dior fragrances and makeup for many years and I’m now fast becoming a convert of their skincare as well. Not only is the packaging so luxe, but every skincare product I’ve tried thus far has worked well for my skin. The Dior Capture Totale Le Serum is a wonderful addition to my skincare regimen. I highly recommend trying it if you’re in the market for an excellent serum that helps address all visible signs of aging and are willing to splurge a bit!

I’m glad to hear that you share the same beliefs and opinion on this product ? It does come at a hefty price tag, but if your skin benefits from it, I say, eh, it’s just money ??♀️

I like your thinking Anxhela. I definitely tend to splurge on skincare and ifI find something that works for my skin, then I’ll stick with it. Thank you for reading! ~ Cat L.

Dom, the roller is a must have in my opinion. The one in this photo is a Rose Quartz roller, a review will be coming to the blog soon. I have previously reviewed a Jade roller, if you’re interested you can search on the blog and the post will come up. I always use a roller in the evening to apply my serums and my oils. Using a roller is basically a workout for the face!

Dear Cat, thank you for taking the time to research and test this serum, then write a thorough review of the product. Everything DOES sound better in French :-)) I will have to ask for a sample of the serum to see how I like it. Just like you, I find that my skin agrees with Dior products. Have a relaxing weekend!

I remember really loving this when it was first launched 2 years ago…. but with the high silicon content, I figured it’s better suited as a primer than skincare. It’s still one of my favorite primers in that sense, and I am so glad it’s now available in a bigger size and refillable too!

Love how Dior is getting to the Eco Packaging bandwagon!
It is better as a primer for me than an actual serum but love how my skin looks with it!

Which product would you recommend better? The Dior dreamskin or Clarins Double Serum?

Curious what do you suggest for Men or is this same exact product suitable ?

Thank you for stopping by. These products are suitable for all skin tones but I find that for instance my husband really likes the men skincare from L’Occitane and Clinique. Hope this helps. ~ Cat L.
