Hello my beautiful friends! Welcome to a new series here on the blog called What’s New in My Beauty Routine! I try new products all the time, if you follow my Instagram Stories ( @DailyCatL ) then you’ll know. However, in order for a product to become a consistent key player in my beauty routine (with emphasis on consistent), there are some requirements that need to be met. The main criteria is that said product has to deliver on its claims! Period. All expectations associated with the product have to be met, otherwise there really is no point to continue the use. Products featured in this new series are also products that I use several times a week if not daily. So consistent use is another key criteria. Let’s kick off the series with an exciting new release from Dermalogica.
Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF50 Broad Spectrum
I never leave my house without wearing SPF! Because let’s face it: I’m not getting any younger and the sun isn’t helping either! My current go-to has been the newly launched Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF50 Broad Spectrum, such a mouthful but such a skin savior!
Benefits
What I like about the Dermalogica Skin Recovery SPF50 is that it’s an all-in-one product. Not only does it defend the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays, but it also firms while minimizing skin-aging triggers and provides long-lasting hydration. It’s light, absorbs quickly, has NO white cast and NO SPF scent.
Antioxidant White Tea helps combat free radicals. Patented Oleosome encapsulation technology boosts sunscreen effectiveness and protection against UV rays, while a unique polypeptide helps with collagen-production. This product is formulated without artificial fragrances, colors or parabens, all important aspects in my skincare buying book. You can find a complete list of ingredients here.
How To Use
The Dermalogica Skin Recovery SPF50 is the daily moisturizer I use on most days after cleansing and toning, especially on those mornings when I’m rushing to get out of the house. I use about 2-3 pumps into my hand, dot it around the perimeter of my face and on the neck, and blend it out upwards and outwards. It applies easily and provides a beautiful base for makeup application as it keeps the skin hydrated and moisturized. The product is free of artificial fragrances, but I do detect a delicate White Tea scent that feels very soothing and refreshing at the same time.
For those who believe in less is more when it comes to skincare and prefer a minimalist approach to their routines, then the Dermalogica Skin Recovery SPF50 is that one product that covers the most ground. It’s suitable for all skin types. And perfect for every lifestyle: daily errands, outdoor jogs, beach workouts, mountain hikes, dining al fresco and everything else you can think of.

Yes to SPF, it really is one of the most important products you can apply on your skin! I usually stick to Asian sunscreens after moisturizer since I like to know what level of UVA protection I’m getting, but I can see this being a great option for those that don’t like the extra step. Love that it contains antioxidants and peptides as well, sounds like a wonderfully formulated product!

I love sunscreen and feel one can never have too many, in particular those with elegant formulas. You’re right, we should all have a sunscreen product like this that performs more than one function for those mornings we just need something quick. I recently started using Dermalogica’s Age Renewal Eye Complex (the beauty supply store where I shop with my esthetics license didn’t have the Stress Positive Eye Lift in stock so I plan to pick it up another time). As you know we don’t see Dermalogica on Instagram often and it’s a reputable brand with good products. I enjoy your insta stories, blog posts and photos.

Hi Traci, thank you so much for such kind words! SO glad you’re enjoying my content and find it helpful! I am a BIG Dermalogica fan, especially their Age Smart range. I find their formulas perform according to the claims and work well on my sensitive skin (they don’t have artificial fragrances which is also a plus for me). I strongly recommend the Stress Positive Eye lift leave-on mask. I use it on most mornings under my eye cream. The cooling applicator feels so refreshing on the skin. Do keep me posted if you get a chance to try it, I’d love to compare notes and get your feedback on it. ~ Cat L.

Well researched article Cat, SPF if a must or else stay indoors period! to find a multi campusing product with an A list of ingredients is truly something, as most products claim this and that yet never deliver. Thank you so much for doing the research on our behalf so we can have an informed choice.

I shall definitely note this one as SPF for me is a daily essential and I love that it ticks the ‘no scent, no white cast’ boxes. I have some great ones in use at the minute but spf50 is always what I look for so thank you Cat for the introduction! Great review as always. Kelly xx
