If you’ve been following my blog or Instagram for a while, then you’ll know about my love affair with Christophe Robin hair products. Ever since I discovered this line here, I’ve been excited about caring for my hair much like I get excited about my makeup or skincare. What I love most about the Christophe Robin range is not just the fact that the products work excellently for my hair, but rather that they are inspired by nature and jam-packed with natural ingredients. The ecological, minimalist formulas remind me of my DIY attempts in my own kitchen, some of which I mentioned here. But of course, minus the mess and with successful end-results.
Christophe Robin’s respect for nature and for sustainably sourcing his ingredients are some of the main attributes that continue to attract me to this brand. You can read more about the brand and how they source their ingredients in an interview I had the honor to conduct with the man behind the brand, Christophe Robin himself, here.
So when I found out Christophe Robin is releasing a new line of haircare products formulated with pure Aloe Vera and almost entirely (98%-100%) with natural-origin ingredients, I knew I had to immediately try it. The range (free of parabens, silicones, SLS) features three products designed to meet all of your hydration needs and help you achieve remarkable, healthy hair. Not only is the collection luxurious, but each one of these products will make a visible difference, change the way you care for your hair and leave your main mane feeling and looking better than before!

Before giving you the scoop on each of these products set to launch this month, I’d like to quickly explain why I whole-heartedly embrace natural-origin ingredients and why Aloe is currently such a trending ingredient in the beauty world. I think this would give a better appreciation for the work of Christophe Robin and what these new products help achieve.
What are Natural-Origin Ingredients?
Ingredients are considered to be natural-origin if they that retain more than 50% of their molecular structure after being processed from their original source. The Christophe Robin Hydrating Range with Aloe contains ingredients with at least 98% natural-origin, an active concoction of botanicals and nutrients. Reaching for products with natural-origin ingredients is a great way to care for yourself, much like the way we eat healthy and exercise regularly. These are products that not only respect our bodies, but also the environment.
Why Aloe Vera for Your Hair?
The benefits of Aloe have been recognized for thousands of years: the Mayans called it the ‘source of youth’, the Ancient Greeks named it a ‘universal remedy’ and the Egyptians called it the ‘plant of immortality’. The Aloe Vera gel is a precious synergy of water and over 75 active molecules, 20 minerals, 18 amino acids, 12 vitamins and even more nutrients (enzymes, trace elements, etc). Many of us today associate Aloe with calming sunburns after a day at the beach, but this incredible natural treasure offers unrivalled hydrating, moisturizing and soothing properties for the hair fiber, as well as for the skin.
Below I’m sharing a bit more about each of the three pieces in the Christophe Robin Aloe Vera Hydrating Collection and how you can incorporate them in your hair care routine.
Hydrating Shampoo Bar with Aloe Vera (for Hair and Body)
The Christophe Robin Hydrating Shampoo Bar with Aloe Vera (for Hair and Body) was an entirely new concept to me. It is basically a 2-in-1 multi-tasker: a solid shampoo and a new form of soap, unlike any other. Created via an eco-responsible ancestral process called cold saponification, the bar is 100% natural, handmade, vegan and free of synthetic agents! Composed of aloe, castor oil and glycerin, this soap gently cleanses the scalp, hair and body without damaging protective barriers.
I immediately loved this as a body soap, but it did take some adjusting when it came to using it as a solid shampoo. I simply love the formula and the way this shampoo bar is created, thus I wanted to instantly fall in love with it upon first try. But the truth is it took about 3 uses to get used to the application method. It’s quite simple really. You wet the soap and the hair. Massage the scalp with the soap bar to release the lather. That’s it. But the solid formula with very little water was a completely new experience for my hair. However, I am a strong believer in trying different things when it comes to taking care of the body, and I’m glad I prevailed and adapted to this new method of washing my hair. I love the way this solid shampoo leaves my hair hydrated, full of body and vitality. Not to mention it’s perfect for traveling.
Hydrating Shampoo with Aloe Vera
The Christophe Robin Hydrating Shampoo with Aloe Vera was an instant hit. Love at first use!
Formulated with 98.6% natural-origin ingredients, enriched with aloe vera and a blend of vitamins and nutrients (complete list of ingredients here) this shampoo gently cleanses, soothes and hydrates the hair and scalp. It has a delicate, reinvigorating scent and provides an instant feeling of comfort and freshness. It lathers very well and is ideal for frequent use. It’s honestly one of THE best natural shampoo’s I’ve ever used and I cannot imagine not having it on rotation. I love how incredibly silky, manageable and fresh it leaves my hair.
Hydrating Leave-In Mist with Aloe Vera
Composed of 98% natural-origin ingredients and silicone-free, the Christophe Robin Hydrating Leave-In Mist with Aloe Vera is ideal for hydrating the hair effectively! It soothes and comforts the scalp while making detangling easier in just a few sprays! My hair is naturally very frizzy so this leave-in mist is the perfect styling product for me as it tames any stubborn flyaways, gives body and leaves my hair looking healthy and shiny. Normally hair products that can effectively control frizz have a heavy, sticky texture but this mist is ultra-lightweight and melts onto the hair to provide nourishment. It smells incredible, offering a truly delectable sensorial experience. Simply spray this on towel-dried hair after washing and before styling. It can also be used on dry hair in between washes, to freshen up and create texture. This is my new must-have and I simply can no longer imagine my hair without it!
Moisturizing your hair is as vital as moisturizing your skin! The goal of the Christophe Robin Hydrating Range with Aloe Vera collection is for consumers to discover an ecological way to gently cleanse, intensely hydrate and detangle the hair with products that respect their skin, hair and the planet! These products are lightweight, help control frizz and provide a remarkable glow for your hair. They are suitable for all hair types, ideal for men and women. I am hoping you have enjoyed reading this post and found it helpful!
Have a great hair day!

Lovely review Cat! I’m a big fan of Christophe Robin’s products as well and though aloe isn’t an ingredient that usually excites me, I do love that this range contains mostly natural origin ingredients! The shampoo and the mist both sound lovely, hopefully they’ll be available in Sephora by the time the VIB sale comes 😀

Hello, Cat! I just saw you ig photo and I had to come over to read all about this new hair care range. I am fascinated by the travel-friendliness of solid shampoo bars, yet afraid of them. My mother tried to wash my hair with homemade laundry soap (Romanian style) – that turned into a huge frizzy mess and I still have the memories.
Thanks for sharing the post and have an amazing day!
