Charlotte Tilbury has been winning over fans for the past 5 years with her exquisitely elegant products at excellent price points. It would be so easy for the brand to play it safe and follow the industry norm. But that’s the thing about Charlotte Tilbury: she is a trendsetter. Constantly challenging the beauty industry’s status quo, constantly at the forefront of innovation. She inspires fearlessness and empowerment. She creates one-of-a-kind makeup that you might not need, but that you will certainly want. The brand, now also available at Sephora, has recently launched a mood-enhancing palette poetically called the Charlotte Tilbury Stars In Your Eyes Palette.
Stars-In-Your-Eyes vs. Instant Eye Palette
The Stars In Your Eyes Palette follows a similar format to the previously released and rapidly sold-out limited edition Instant Eye Palette from last year. Review and swatches here. Similar to its predecessor, the Stars In Your Eyes palette contains 12 incredibly pigmented and easy to blend shadows, a mixture of sumptuous mattes and sophisticated shimmers, smartly divided between 4 fresh new looks: Love Eyes, Power Eyes, Happy Eyes and Confident Eyes.
With each look, you have 3 carefully curated shadows to prime, enhance and smoke. You first start with the prime shade and apply that all over the lid. Next, use the enhance shade to blend across the lid and add definition to the eyes. Then complete the look by popping the smoke shade into the crease, outer corner and to line the eyes.
Shade Range
Unlike its predecessor, the color story of Stars In Your Eyes is warm bronze shades paired with rich, neutral mauvey tones. These colors have been cleverly selected to flatter any skin tone and any age group, regardless of season, time of day, trend, outfit choice or makeup skills. All shades pair beautifully together and layer well. You’re not limited to pairing the shadows the way suggested on the packaging. The possibilities are truly endless: you can create as many different eye-looks as your uncensored imagination allows.
Formula and Pigmentation
True to Charlotte Tilbury standards, the pigmentation is simply superb! The formula is incredibly finely milled, smooth and long-lasting on the lids. Any brush picks up just the right amount of product. Thus, the shades glide and blend effortlessly. This palette is absolutely perfect for beginners and makeup pros alike!
I’m typically not a fan of palettes that include several shimmer shades, but Charlotte Tilbury is one of those few brands that do shimmer the right way! Her shimmers look modern, are ultra-fine and glitter-free, adding just the right amount of sparkle and glow to the eyes.
Let’s take a look at each of the 12 eyeshadows …
All swatches are single swipes. The shades swatched effortlessly on my arm and translated beautifully on the lids as well. I was caught off guard by the enhance shade from Power Eyes. It looked quite gold and a bit intimidating in the pan, but swatched more like a topper, one of those shades you apply on top of another color to add luminosity.
Here’s a makeup look I wore to a surprise birthday dinner for my husband last Friday. I started out by blending the smoke shade from Love Eyes into the top of the crease. This is THE perfect transition shade. I then used the enhance shade from Happy Eyes to define the crease and lower lash line. Next, I swept the prime from Happy Eyes all over the lid, working toward the crease but keeping below it. I added the smoke from Happy Eyes to the outer third and popped the enhance shade from Love Eyes into the inner corner. I finished by patting the prime from Love Eyes along the brow bone and lining my lower lashes with a mixture of enhance and smoke from Confident Eyes.
Next, I lined my upper lash line with the Shodo Liquid Eyeliner and used the Classic Pen to tightline. I curled my eyelashes as described here and added two coats of the Full Fat Lashes Mascara. I filled in my brows with my Anastasia Brow Wiz reviewed here and set everything with the Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows Gel. On the lips, I’m wearing Charlotte Tilbury Secret Salma (Hot Lips lipsticks reviewed and swatched here) layered over my Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk.
I’ve been over the moon with this palette and have worn it daily since I got it. I would highly recommend checking this palette out whether you’re a makeup pro or you’re just starting out. It has a thoughtful array of colors and finishes that not only complement each other beautifully, but that will also simplify your life with 4 fresh, easy to use elegant looks!
The Charlotte Tilbury Stars In Your Eyes Palette is available on their own website here, as well as online at Sephora and Nordstrom.
