If you love cream or liquid products, then you will adore the recently released cream eyeshadows from powerhouse Charlotte Tilbury. And if you have yet to try cream eyeshadows, then look this way! Joining the original 6 (Bette, Jean, Marie Antoinette, Mona Lisa, Cleopatra, Veruschka) are two brand new, long-lasting colors: Star Gold and Rose Gold. These cream eyeshadows are the ultimate foolproof products! Designed to light up the eyes, these effortless colors work to help you achieve that One-Minute No-Mirror makeup look. Think bright, starlit eyes with minimal effort!
Formula
I am a big fan of cream eyeshadows because they are so effortless and can be quickly applied without the need of a brush and mirror. It was my first time experimenting with Charlotte Tilbury cream products and let me just say, these cream eyeshadows did not disappoint.
Of all the other cream colors I’ve tried thus far (Chanel, Dior, MAC paintpots, Maybelline, Kiko Milano), the Charlotte Tilbury formula is the easiest to work with! It glides effortlessly and blends like a dream. The easy glide-on formula also means these cream eyeshadows are incredibly gentle and won’t drag and tug on the delicate eye area. The color can be built up and layered easily to achieve the desired intensity. The formula is water-infused and has a cooling effect on the eyes. You can just see the beautiful, almost wet-like effect of the texture in the swatches below. The formula is also blended with vitamin E to hydrate and provide antioxidant protection.
Star Gold is a bronze shade with ultra-fine golden shimmers and a metallic finish. It is one of the most unique and beautiful colors I have ever seen!
Rose Gold is a warm-toned rose-gold metallic shade with ultra-fine pink shimmers. I’ve got so many compliments every time I wear this color.
Let me also just say that Charlotte Tilbury shimmers are done in a very refined, subtle way. They don’t look glittery or overdone, but add just the right amount of sparkle to your gaze. You can wear these colors alone, layer them together or use them as a base for other eyeshadows. A favorite combination of mine is using Star Gold as a base with the Golden Goddess quad layered on top. See this makeup look featured in a previous post here.
Lasting Power
I have fairly oily eyelids and live in the hot and humid Florida climate. Without a primer, these eyeshadows creased slightly after about 5 hours but the color still looked lively and beautiful. Since the formula is so easy to work with and so kind on the eyes, I would still highly recommend these. The wear is extended when wearing a primer and allowing the cream shadow to dry first before layering on more color.
How To Apply
These cream shadows can be applied using your finger or an eyeshadow brush. For instance, you can use a flat shader brush or a blending brush. I have a detailed post on brush recommendation here. Simply pat the color along the eyelid and blend it in to achieve the desired intensity. You can also use a smudge brush or flat angled brush to run the color on the lower eyelash and accentuate the eyes. Easy peasy, no?
This is a makeup look featuring Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Shadow in Star Gold. I started out by blending out Star Gold all over the lid and buffing it into the crease to add some definition. Next, I patted more of the color onto the outer and inner third of the lid to accentuate the eyes. I lined my upper lashes with Charlotte Tilbury Feline Flick Fine Line Shodo Pen and my lower lashes with the Classic Eye Powder Pencil. I finished the eye look by adding two coats of Full Fat Lashes Mascara. On the lips, I’m wearing Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips in Secret Salma, reviewed here.
Here is a soft makeup look featuring Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Shadow in Rose Gold. This is a look I wear on most days, very effortless and easy to re-create. I started out by patting Rose Gold all over the lid using a shader brush. Next, I gently swept and buffed the color using a blending brush. As with the previous look, I lined my upper lash line with the Charlotte Tilbury Feline Flick Fine Line Shodo Pen and my lower lashes with the Classic Eye Powder Pencil. Finished by adding two coats of Full Fat Lashes Mascara. On the lips, I’m wearing Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria (reviewed here) topped with Pixi Lip Icing in Cake (reviewed here).

Hi Cat,
Beautiful review and pictures. Both of these pots of magic look beautiful but the star gold is my favourite. Anything bronzey is a winner to me. I love the texture of these soft and buildable.
