Fashionably late to the Burberry Beauty Spring 2017 Collection party, but I had my reasons. As much as I adore Burberry makeup, they really did take it up a few notches these past few collections, did I really need another blush palette? As you know, if you’ve read some of my recent posts, this year I’m focusing on shopping my own collection, using what I have and striving my hardest to become a minimalist in most areas of my life. But then I laid my eyes on the new Burberry Silk and Bloom Blush Palette! There was something so exciting and hopeful about this delicate palette, that right then and there, I instantly found a place for it in my life!
Behind the Collection
So now I’ve just shown you a few photos of this blush, don’t worry more to come! It’s quite the heartbreaker, isn’t it? Yes, I felt that way too. The delicate blooms and elegant geometric pattern spoke to me from the very beginning. Then I was given the 411 on this palette. I learned it takes inspiration from runway haute couture designs and fabrics. The unique pattern references antique wallpaper sourced from London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, the world’s leading museum of decorative arts and one of my personal favorites, so I got a little weak in the knees and just knew I had to have this blush!
Color, Formula and Finish
The Burberry Silk and Bloom Blush is a rosy, plumy shade that gives a gorgeous flush to the face. The formula is described as having illuminating pearls that work to create a soft and subtle lit-from-within glow. The finish has a slight sheen to it which really illuminates the cheeks and enhances the skin. The powder is hard pressed, but feels lightweight and easily blendable, thus it can be layered to achieve the desired intensity and dramatic effect. My favorite way to wear this blush is with minimal makeup, as it’s one of those sweep and go, instant fabulous type of products. But really this blush is perfect for any day, type of occasion and situation. It works great for the girl who enjoys a full face of makeup, as well as for those of us who don’t wear much make up at all on most days, but are looking to liven up the complexion and add a pop of color. In short, this blush is an instant pick me up!
Here is a makeup look featuring mostly Burberry Beauty products: Burberry Silk and Bloom on the cheeks showcasing the sheen finish, Burberry Nude Blush Palette on the eyes and finished with Burberry Kisses Lipstick in the shade Nude No. 21.
Packaging
The Silk and Bloom Blush comes packaged in a weighty gunmetal silver compact with the signature Burberry plaid pattern etched across. It looks sophisticated, elegant, and with just the right amount of edge to it. It features magnetic closure, adding to its sleek appeal. Inside, opposite the blush, is a mirror, perfect for on the go lipstick touchups (you will most likely never have to touch up the blush as it seems to wear really well, lasting a good 6-7 hours on me).
Included with the blush is a small, but quite useable, angled brush. I typically prefer to use my own brushes to apply product, but to my surprise, this blush brush works well, doesn’t shed and glides seamlessly on top of the cheeks. The bristles are packed just enough to where the brush is not stiff nor is it overly soft, but perfect for picking up and distributing the right amount of product onto the face and making the blending in process as easy as can be.
This is quite possibly the most beautiful and unique blush palette I own! It made me anticipate Spring, dream about delicate, soft blooms that really are just a few short months away, and think that the best is yet to come! You might not need this blush, but you’ll definitely want!

Such a gorgeous blush! I’ve been shopping today for new shadows and blush. I haven’t picked the blush yet. I was looking at several from Tom Ford but I’m concerned about the excessive shimmer in the shades I liked. This looks so much better for me! I actually got 2 or 3 of the Burberry eye quads but I think I’ll look close at the blush now! This one looks so pretty on you!
