Why is everything mini so cute? I haven’t figured that out, but the latest company to get on board the ‘mini’ trend is famous brush-maker Artis. They just released the Palm Brush Mini, a small (but mighty) version of their best-selling palm brush. I became loyal to their face brushes when I discovered the Artis Oval 6 here and quickly started my own collection here. So when I heard about the launch of the Mini, naturally I was excited and eager to find out more. I decided to put this brush on the spot and share with you the details. So let’s see how it measures up …
Artis Palm Brush Mini Details and Description
Oval brushes are one of THE biggest innovation to have hit the beauty world over the past few years. I have previously talked about the Artis craftsmanship, why I initially dismissed their brushes and what finally prompted me to give in to the hype in a previous post here.
The Artis Palm Brush Mini works well with any type of formula (cream, liquid, gel, powder) and any type of face product (primer, foundation, concealer, highlighter, bronzer, blush). This brush might be small but it’s quite mighty:
- works to apply foundation all over the face
- blends concealer under the eyes and along the sides of the nose
- fits perfectly onto the hallows of the cheeks to seamlessly contour
- can be used to add a pop of glow to the top of the cheekbones
Artis Palm Brush Mini Size Comparison
To put things into perspective, I thought I’d show you the Mini next to other face brushes I have. I don’t own the regular size Artis Palm Brush, so I can’t show you the comparison. But I do own some other popular face brushes that I’ve included in the photos for your reference. Since a photo is worth a thousand words, here’s the visual:
The Artis Palm Brush Mini is about the same size as the original Beauty Blender (dry). It has the same circumference as the oval side of the Real Techiques beauty blender (dry), but the Mini is slightly longer. The Mini is about the size of two Dior kabuki brushes. While most face brushes have a domed-shape, the Mini features a flat surface. That means it can evenly pat and press products onto the skin.
How to Use the Artis Palm Brush Mini
My makeup application and overall results have never been the same since I started using the Artis oval brushes. These brushes apply my makeup quick and easy, effortlessly and efficiently. The Palm Brush Mini is no exception. I am actually a big fan of the size. The Mini works great at targeting small areas around the eyes, nose and lips. I use it primarily to set my powder. But I have also used the Mini to apply my foundation, as well as to contour and highlight.
You can apply the product directly onto the brush itself, you can dip the brush into the product or dab the product on your face and use the Mini to blend. For cream and liquid products, I typically like to dot the product onto my face, using the Mini to blend and buff. For powder formulas, I swirl the Mini over the product a few times and then press the product onto the face.
How to Clean
I typically use my own cleaning solution and clean all of my Artis brush as described here. In the past, I have also used the solid beauty blender cleaner available here. There are also detailed video tutorials on how to clean these brushes on the Artis website here.
Final Thoughts
Unlike a conventional face brush, the Artis Palm Brush Mini features very densely packed bristles that help blend and buff makeup into natural-looking results regardless of formula (liquid, cream, gel or powder). The oval shape of the brush head ensures that all fibers are in direct contact with the skin further enhancing the smooth application. No streaks and no uneven patches! In addition, because of the unique design, less product is needed and thus wasted into the brush.
All Artis brushes are man-made, cruelty-free, and incredibly soft. Thus making them the perfect tools for even the most sensitive complexions. I love using the Mini for touchups on the go as well and wish it came in its own case so I can carry it with me in my bag at all times.
Hope you’ve found this post helpful. I also recommend checking out the Artis website and Instagram. They have video tutorials that address any question you might have and their brand representatives are incredibly helpful and responsive.
Where to Purchase
Artis brushes are available online on their website here and at high-end retailers such as Space NK, Anthropologie, Dillards, Net-a-Porter, and Nordstrom.

I just LOVE this cute brush! A few years ago I would look on net a porter for days doubting if I should get the Oval 6 brush but it was just so much money. Now I have a few dupes of the oval brush but I still get twinkly eyes when I look at the Artis brush! The mini brush looks so cute and I bet it also has a nice grip in the hand.

How does the size of the palm mini compare to the oval 7?
Cat says
Thank you for stopping by. I don’t have the oval 7 only the Oval 6. I can measure the diameter of the Mini and let you know. Will also reach out to the brand for an answer and update my answer here when they respond.
